Tuesday Modern Jive Classes
Beginners 8.00pm BAWA Club Concorde Room
Intermediates and Beginners+ 9.15pm
We teach every Tuesday evening at the BAWA Club Concorde Room. The evening is split between lessons and freestyle. In general the beginners and new comers arrive between 7.45 to 8.00 for the Beginners Class at 8.00. The class consists of four beginners moves over a period of 45 minutes. Unlike many styles of dance in LeRoc you do not need to bring a partner. You will be expected to move around partners which, although daunting at first, is what makes LeRoc so friendly and sociable. Don't worry too much about this it is not as bad as you may think and you will learn far more quickly.
At 8.45 freestyle designed in particular for beginners will start. You can practice your new moves or get a drink at the bar and chat. There are always lots of people to dance with so don't be shy.
Beginners+ and the Intermediates class start at 9.15. Beginners+ is a fabulous class taken by Gareth and Jill who will go over the Beginners Class again in a lot more one-on-one detail, so any problems can be ironed out. This extra free class really does speed up your learning. Intermediates is for dancers who have mastered all the beginner moves in LeRoc and now feel competent to deal with the faster pace and more complex moves. The intermediate class consists of five or six more complex moves.
At 10.00 we have a full hour of freestyle to dance, chat with friends or have a drink through to 11.00.
The BAWA Club has lots of safe, lit on-site parking and fully licensed bar.
